DRUG OVERDOSE

Drug overdoses can occur accidentally or on purpose. It is possible to overdose on any drug and can be fatal, and in some cases kill you. If you are using over-the-counter or prescription drugs it is very important to follow the instructions on the packaging. Mixing multiple drugs or combining drugs and alcohol can be very dangerous and life-threatening as well.

There are many signs to look for if you think you or someone you know has overdosed. Some of these include dizziness, vomiting, seizures, excessive sweating, hallucinations, difficulty breathing, inability to walk or stay standing, altered state of consciousness, and loss of consciousness.

If you feel you may have overdosed on any drug you should call a poison control center immediately for further instructions. If you cannot find the number to a poison control center it would be wise to go to your local hospital to be evaluated and possibly have your stomach pumped.
